Chickens
Cattle
British White cattle can be traced back to the 17th century. They are a beef breed and are great for home or commercial production. These cows are naturally polled, meaning they don’t have horns. They are also amazingly docile but have kind of snobby attitudes. They are very heat and cold-tolerant and fit right into our hot, humid southwest Louisiana climate.
We also have Jersey cows for milking and raising calves. They produce a2/a2 milk and are on a grass-fed diet for the cleanest, healthiest milk possible.
In Louisiana, it is illegal to sell raw milk for consumption, but it is legal to buy into a milk/cow share for anyone who also enjoys raw dairy products. We use this creamy raw milk for cooking and to make butter, ice cream, and cheese. Our farm cats, dogs, and chickens love raw milk and enjoy it as a treat!

Horses
We wouldn’t be Mad Horse Farms without horses! Horses are what started the whole thing. I grew up on horseback, riding and barrel racing. I’ve never not had a horse, even as a baby! We have American Quarter Horses and use them for trail riding and barrel racing.
